It's All Right, 'Cause it's Saved by the Bell Thursday! Happy birthday, Zack!

Today's SBTBT is an extra-special episode, kids.  Because today our dear Mark Paul Gosselaar aka Zack Morris aka Preppy aka Running Zack (if you remember the Native American episode) is 38.

Obviously we know Zack very well, but who doesn't like a little uninteresting trivia to spice up an otherwise-average day?  You're welcome!

Trivia
Has competed as a celebrity race car driver.
Parents: father - Hans (Dutch), mother - Paula (of Indonesian descent)
Older brother Mike, older sisters Sylvia and Linda, all three are born in Netherlands.
Speaks fluent Dutch.
Children: Michael Charles Gosselaar (b. January 31, 2004) and Ava Lorenn Gosselaar (b. May 7, 2006). Both were born in Los Angeles, California.
Still keeps in touch with his "Saved by the Bell" (1989) co-star Mario López.
Lists "Running Zack", the episode where Zack explores and learns about his Native American heritage and forms a close bond with a local Indian, as his favorite episode of "Saved by the Bell" (1989).
Colored his hair blonde in every episode of "Saved by the Bell" (1989).
Uncle of Chris Gosselaar.
Spoke the last line of NYPD Blue, in which he referred to the recently promoted Sergeant Andy Sipowicz as "Boss".

Now THAT is a career.  But "Running Zack" was one of the worst episodes ever.  It was during that weird time when it looks like they filmed the shows differently, and randomly one of the girls wouldn't be on for no reason, and I hate that episode.  Like, you're SBTB.  Go to the Max, and leave the political stuff to Jessie, and make it only about the environment or women's rights, so she can chain herself to items, okay?  Okay.

  1. Totally agree that Running Zack was a horrible episode! Didn't he cry in that episode? Like, badly?!

  2. I think he did. He was the worst crier. Remember when Kelly dumped him at the dance for dreamy Jeff? He cried then, too, and it was so ridiculous.
