Foods with Color

Okay, what foods with color do you eat?  White and brown foods don't count.  I've got those covered: cheese, bread, Diet Coke (which I have been FIENDING for lately, and I don't even really like it that much, I just require it, which is so bad but what can you do?!), cold cuts and pasta.  Okay, what else is there?  I know you have ideas.  What do you feed yourself and your kid?  Or my kid, actually.  What would you feed my kid?

Also, how do you stop being addicted to Diet Coke?  I tried to trick myself by having wine instead, but no dice.  I mean, it was good, but I still wanted the DC.  I know it makes you fat and mean and gives you a beard (Is that one wrong?) but literally, right now I am itchy for it.  Not itchy in the same way as I was when I saw Chris Elliot, but still, pretty intense.

This is basically what I look like right now, with a curlier mustache. Stupid Diet Coke!
Also, do NOT Google "addicted to diet coke".  Really, really weird stuff comes up.

  1. I have no idea how to get off the Diet Coke, other than to stop buying it (and maybe start buying sugar-free Red Bull, because that stuff is delicious!).

How old is your kid? Is she eating baby food or is she picking stuff up and eating it herself? I used to make my kid's baby food by steaming veggies (sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, peas) and blending them in the blender. Then I'd freeze them. It was waaay cheaper than buying baby food, and surely it was better for him.

I've been eating a lot of lettuce lately, just because I like it. I'll take a whole romaine heart and go to town. It's weird, I know, but I find it refreshing.

There is a slight chance that The Hubby is going to get a job in Seattle, and if that is the case, then you and I must meet in person and be best friends. It's important. :)

  2. (Oh, and don't worry--I'll share all my The Party mp3s when we're best friends. I'm really nice like that.)

  3. OMG seriously, it's not fair. I live on the east coast, where Jack in the Box is nowhere to be found but fortunately, there is a Dunkin Donuts on every corner. Actually, my hometown is the world headquarters of DD, and don't think I'm not super proud even though I don't like it that much anymore. This means that your husband must move to the Northeast, where everything is close together and we can be best friends really easily. Do you want me to call him?

YOU CAN GET THE PARTY MP3s?! OMG, I think I just choked. What do you think Chase and Damon are doing right now? Probably combing their awesome hair...

Bink is just about a year (less than two weeks away, but I'm holding on), so she eats everything and... well, everything. She's been into feeding herself (not with a spoon, of course), so I'm trying to think of cool finger foods but I'm in a total rut. Maybe we can share some lettuce, though... ha, now I actually want some!

  4. Aw, I thought you lived in Seattle since you were pimpin' a salon there! Was that not you? :( We've been trying to get to the East Coast for years now, but haven't found a way yet. I have a friend in Westerly Rhode Island, I love it there!

I HAVE a whole bunch of MP3s from The Party, actually, and I will share them with you when and if I can figure out how to do that easily over the interwebs! I'm FB friends with Chase, actually--he's very friendly nowadays. I read an article a while back on Damon in US Weekly or something like that, and it was seriously like porn for me. I'll try to find it.

My kid stopped eating vegetables as soon as he stopped eating baby food, so I got nothin' in the way of advice there. :(
